Camtasia
Price: €
Camtasia is one of the more popular video editing suites available for Windows. It burst onto the scene a few years ago, developed by TechSmith. It is a complete suite for editing shorts, reels, full-length YouTube videos, and large-scale projects. It even comes with screen recording capabilities that you can use to record your gameplay, create tutorials, and so much more.
Edit to the best of your capability
Camtasia is a complete video editing application that allows you to create amazing videos using the best of your creativity and capability. You can also import your existing projects and start new ones. So, get started with creating tutorials, YouTube videos, film projects, social media content, educational content, and so much more.
When it comes to editing features, it has all the required features and some extras too. It allows users to draw different shapes complimenting the video, as well as animated callouts that will help you make your video catchy and useful.
Screen recording with additional features
Camtasia provides excellent screen recording capability alongside extra goodies that you are bound to love. For starters, once you click on "Record" on the main screen in a project, it will open the screen recording prompt in which you can then access the options to turn the webcam on/off, mic on/off, audio on/off, and select which screen you want to record in case of multiple tabs or displays.
One of my favorite parts of screen recording and creating videos with this video editing application is the way it integrates the webcam, the screen recording, and other options so seamlessly. Once you have recorded your video, you can change the layout, and background, and apply effects and filters.
AI features
While AI features are only available in paid versions (the Create and the Pro), it is great to have them on board for your projects. Camtasia has the following AI features incorporated:
Text-based video editing
Enter prompts and you can generate complete scripts through AI
Audio cleanups to help you remove breathing and fan noises
How much does it cost?
Camtasia comes with a free 7-day trial version, which is a short period but enough to evaluate the studio. Furthermore, it comes in 3 different variants if you decide to buy.
The Essentials is priced at $179.88/year and comes with all the basic features as well as screen and camera recording capability.
The Create costs $249.00/year. It is a tier above the Essentials, and it brings limited AI and audio cleanup features to the table.
The Pro costs $499.00/year. This is the flagship variant and it has every feature including complete AI functionality as well as premium assets.
The verdict
Camtasia is a premium and complete video editing suite that can rival the best video editors out there for all their money. While it does not come cheap, it is feature-rich and provides a few unique features that help it stand out from the rest of the bunch.
